What is Covered: Our shipping and handling fees cover the cost of postage, shipping materials and time and labor in packaging your order.
Shipping Method (Domestic): Packages under 13 ounces ship by USPS 1st Class Mail. Domestic packages over 13 ounces ship by USPS Priority Mail, USPS Parcel Post, UPS Ground, Fedex or DHL, at our discretion. All domestic packages ship with delivery confirmation numbers. Insurance is not included. If you are concerned about lost or damaged packages, please purchase insurance for your order here. Customers are strongly encouraged to add postal insurance to their order.
Shipping Method (International): Packages under 4 pounds ship by Air Mail. Packages with a shipping weight of over 4 pounds must be shipped by International Priority Mail, International Express Mail or UPS Standard.
International Customs & Duty: Each customer is responsible for customs or duties levied by their home countries on the goods shipped to them. The postage and cost of goods charged by The Body Perfumery do not include customs or duties.
International Flat Rate Box Option: New from the United States Postal Service is a flat rate international mailing option worth considering for any medium to large orders.
The benefit of the Internationl Priority Flat Rate Box over regular International Air Mail is that up to 20 pounds can be mailed for one flat price. In contrast, International Air Mail limits the package to 4 pounds only and is a variable price (which at the high end, differs little from the International Priority rates).
Additional benefits of International Priority include: (1) 6 to 10 average business day delivery to major destinations; (2) Tracking to major destinations; (3) Limited indemnity coverage provided at no extra charge; and (4) Insurance available for a fee.
Large and heavy orders benefit most from this option. You may want to consider assembling a large order, perhaps with some friends, to make this shipping option a real bargain. Keep in mind that your order must weigh less than 20 pounds and must fit into the dimensions of the flat rate box (allowing room for cushioning material): 11" X 8.5" X 5.5". Large orders with a high dollar value may attract stricter scrutiny from your country's customs service. We are required by federal law to report the accurate value and contents of your order on the custom declaration form.
International Priority Flat Rate Box Pricing:
To Canada: $24.50
To Australia/UK: $39.50
In providing our international customers with a shipping quote, we will take into account the weight of the items in the order and recommend the most economical shipping option. For example, the International Priority Mail Flat Rate Box is not ideal for orders mainly consisting of items such as perfume oils.
The USPS's May 14, 2007 changes to international mailing options include the elimination of the small flat rate International Priority Mail envelope as well as international surface mail. The only international mailing options now available are: Air Mail, Priority Mail or Express Mail. The Body Perfumery will assume you want your order shipped either by Air Mail or Priority Mail, unless you instruct us to use Express Mail.
